Ring Resizing FAQ
1. How much does it cost to resize a ring?
Ring resizing at Billig Jewelers starts at $50. Plain gold bands start at $75, platinum at $85, and rings with pavé or channel-set stones at $95. Eternity bands start at $125. Final pricing is confirmed after we inspect the ring.
2. Can a jeweler resize a ring the same day?
Yes, for most plain bands and simple settings. Bring the ring in before 11 AM; rush service starts at $75 and depends on that day's workload. Rings needing rhodium plating cannot be finished same-day because the plating needs curing time.
3. Which rings cannot be resized?
Tungsten and ceramic generally cannot be resized by traditional methods — both are too hard to cut and rejoin. Titanium, stainless steel and cobalt are evaluated individually. Gold, platinum and sterling silver resize routinely.
4. Is it cheaper to resize a ring up or down?
At our bench the price is the same either way. Cost is driven by the metal, the number of sizes and the ring's construction rather than the direction of the change.
5. Is it worth resizing a ring?
Usually. Resizing runs $50 to $195 against the cost of replacing a ring, and it keeps a piece you already own and care about. The exception is a shank worn thin enough to flex — there, reshanking at $195 is the better investment.
6. Can I take my ring anywhere to get resized?
You can, but ask one question first: is there a bench on the premises? Many stores collect rings and ship them to a central shop, which is where most of the delay and most of the damage happens. Our work is done in Marlton.
7. Do jewelers resize rings for free?
We do, for life, on any ring purchased at Billig Jewelers. Rings bought elsewhere are priced from $50.
8. How quickly can you get a ring resized?
Five business days is standard. Same-day service is available for most plain bands dropped off before 11 AM. Reshanking and eternity band work take longer and are quoted at drop-off.
